A complexes of Pd(II) and Pt(II) have been synthesized from a reaction of one mole of (5-phenyl-1. 3. 4-oxadiazole-2-ylthio)mercury (HgL2) with two mole of PdCl2 and PtCl2 to give the colored complexes with general formula [M2Cl4(HgL2)] [where M=Pd(II) or Pt(II)].
